The numerical strength of the APC at the Edo State House of Assembly on Wednesday increased to fourteen as the member representing Uhunmwonde Constituency, Kaycee Osawonyi defected from the PDP to APC.
The State Legislator was received by the APC State Chairman, Emperor Jarret Tenebe joined by other members of the state working committee and APC lawmakers in the State House of Assembly.
The leadership of Edo APC and members were in a joyous mood as they welcomed the state Legislator, Kaycee Osawonyi.
The gale of defection In the Edo State House of Assembly a few weeks ago kicked off with the defection of four members which altered the composure of the leadership of the State House of Assembly and made the APC the majority party of the house.
In his speech, the APC state chairman Emperor Jarret Tenebe said that given the sagacity and leadership acumen of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo, more personalities are being attracted to join the party.
He welcomed the new legislator Kaycee Osawony, saying there is no discrimination in APC since his former party was unable to reconcile its differences.
The State APC chairman used the opportunity to congratulate the members for the resounding victory at the polls, saying it is a testimony of the acceptability of Senator Monday Okpebholo and solicited unity among others in a bid to actualize the renewed hope agenda of the president and Five point agenda of Senator Monday Okpebholo.
Highpoint was the formal acceptance and handing of the APC symbol to the new defector Kaycee Osawonyi member representing Uhunmwonde Constituency.
The new defector Kaycee Osawonyi appreciated the reception given to him on his way back to his original party.
The new majority leader of the Edo state House of Assembly led other APC lawmakers to the event.
