Nasarawa Gov swears in 17 new commissioners

LAFIA—GOVERNOR Umaru Tanku Al-makura of Nasarawa State, Wednesday, swore-in 17 new commissioners along side the state Head of the Civil Service, HOCS,  as members of his cabinet

Speaking shortly after the ceremony, Al-makura asked them to brace up for the challenges that will drive the changes required to fast-track the development of the state.

Al-makura said: “The choice of the appointees is, therefore in tandem with our cherished vision, mission and programme of action aimed at provision of good governance, enduring peace and sustainable development. The guiding principles of this administration remain honesty, transparency, accountability, prudent management of scarce resources, due process in the conduct of government business and, above all, the fear of God.

“It is in keeping with this disposition that, this administration will at all times, employ meticulous measures in the selection of officers to run public affairs.”

According to him, the new appointees “are people who I know, share the same level of passion and concern that Nasarawa State must never suffer again from good governance and are determined to manage the resources that our people will continue to get value for”

“The mandate we have been given will be justified by the way we shall work.”
