Nigerian Attorney General says Kebbi people will vote APC because Buhari Banned Rice Importation
The Nigerian Attorney General Abubakar Malami has praised the President's move to ban rice importation, saying it's why Nigerians will vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Malami said that the decision saved Nigerians N1.5 trillion per annum - the cost of importation before 2015.
The AG said during the APC rally in Yauri Local Government Area in Kebbi State on Thursday. "Before President Muhammadu Buhari's administration in 2015, Nigeria was spending N1.5 trillion to import rice from Thailand and other countries annually," adding that "the rice revolution introduced by the President put an end to that."
Malami added, "Today, I am happy to inform you that Nigeria no longer imports rice; instead, we export over 800 tonnes of rice annually, of course, this is a great achievement."
The APC member also reminded the Kebbi people that Mr. Buhari gave federal appointments to Kebbi indigenes - Executive Director, Sokoto River Basin, Managing Director, HYPPADEC, EFCC Boss and Managing Director, Nigeria Port Authority (NPA).
The Minister urged Kebbi people to vote for "candidates of the party at all levels to enjoy more dividends of democracy in their respective areas."
