A former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo and President Muhammadu Buhari met in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, at the opening session of the 30th African Union summit on Sunday.
This is the first time the duos are meeting after the controversial memo written by Obasanjo, advising Buhari not to contest in 2019.

Obasanjo had accused Buhari of incompetence, nepotism and corruption within his party.
On Sunday, they both met and shook hands and chatted for about two minutes, a brief meeting that attracted stare and smiles from Hadi Sirika minister of state for aviation and Geoffrey Onyeama, minister of foreign affairs among other delegates.
A former Head of State, Abdulsalami Abubakar later joined the duo for a photograph.
Obasanjo letter had attracted reactions from Nigerians while fans from both parties turn on one another on social media.
A public figure, Dr. Aminu Gamaza who reacted to the photo urged Nigerians to move beyond political difference like Buhari and Obasanjo.
“When would Nigerians understand that their leaders and elites, no matter their political and other differences, are closer to each other than the masses? These men have been together since the early 1960s. In one way or another, they have been calling the shots since 1966”
