Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has promised to strengthen his administration’s agenda for the betterment of the Edo people.
The governor remarked during his first year in office.
Dignitaries from all walks of life converged on the Sir Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub to celebrate Senator Monday Okpebholo’s governorship journey, which began on November 12 last year.
The one-year anniversary colloquium provided an opportunity for Senator Monday Okpebholo to present a scorecard of his administration’s achievements over the past year, amid criticisms that have trailed the period.
A galaxy of members of the National Assembly, the Oba of Benin, HRM Ewuare II, religious and traditional rulers, the academia, and industry leaders converged at the Victor Uwaifo Hub to mark the one-year milestone of Senator Monday Okpebholo.
Presenting his administration’s scorecard for the past year, Gov. Okpebholo expressed his administration’s determination to build on successes recorded in security, education, infrastructure, agriculture, health, and other sectors.
“You all have seen how we have been working for the Edo people to enable them to enjoy the dividends of democracy.
“We won’t relent, as the mandate the Edo people gave us will be fully utilized for the Edo people—not like the one before, who concentrated on himself alone without doing anything for the people.”
Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, APC National Chairman, Prof. Yilwada Nentawe, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, and other dignitaries commended Gov. Okpebholo’s track record of achievements.
A documentary on the administration’s SHINE Agenda exposed guests to the achievements recorded in the past year. The Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., in an overview of the ‘SHINE’ Agenda, said the administration has fared well in infrastructure, agriculture, healthcare, education, and other critical areas.
The event featured cultural and comedy performances, while a special panel session highlighted the gains, prospects, and areas of expectation from citizens.
