A total of 50 attorneys, including senior advocates, may be hired by Osun State Governor Gboyega Oyetola to contest Ademola Adeleke's victory in the state's governorship election on Saturday.

To take serious legal action against the INEC's announcement of Adeleke as the governor-elect, the governor's legal team has scrutinized the election results.

The electoral board proclaimed Adeleke the victor of the state's governorship race on Sunday. Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, the University of Lagos' Vice Chancellor and the election's returning officer said that Adeleke defeated the incumbent APC governor, who received 375,027 votes, as well as 13 other candidates, with a total of 403,371 votes.

The governor advised his supporters to maintain their composure after it was announced that his opponent had won the election in a statement sent by his chief press secretary, Ismaila Omipidan. He added that he would respond after reviewing the results.

However, Kunle Adegoke (SAN) has stated in an interview with newsmen that lawyers from Oyetola's team could be up to 50.

"The membership can’t be determined as many lawyers are interested in joining the team. You know election petition is a special case. So, we allow as many lawyers that are interested to come in. We may run into 50 or more members,” he stated.
