The press conference which was held at the temporary office of the PDP  after their permanent office was invaded by the APC  centred on the current state of insecurity and other unfriendly policies of the Governor Monday Okpebholo-led administration.

According to the PDP chairman Tony Aziegbemi, it is no longer news that insecurity in the state has assumed an unbearable dimension with kidnapping, robbery and other criminal vices taking the front burner with the governor allegedly doing nothing to curtain the menace.

He said the situation is scary as the governor who is the chief security officer has done nothing to remedy the ugly trend thereby making Edo people now sleep with their eyes open.

The PDP chairman also raised an eyebrow at the increase in allege Agberos and thugs in the state which has painted the state in a bad light.

The Chairman also took a swipe at the reduction of internally generated revenue which he attributed to alleged corruption in high places in the current administration.

The PDP Publicity Secretary Chris Nehikhare added his voice to the briefing saying the current administration is withholding billions of naira belonging to the local government after allegedly illegally suspending Democratically elected chairmen and vice chairmen of the 18 local government.

Reacting to the allegations the chief press secretary Fred Itua said the PDP has nothing to say hence the baseless submission.

He said it was very obvious in the eyes of every citizen of Edo that Governor Monday Okpebholo is doing everything positive to reduce security in the state as it can’t be done in just one day.

He also said that the governor has friendly policies that have helped the state and made people love him more.
