The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) may win the general election scheduled to hold on 28th of March, 2015. with at least a margin of 10.8%, NAIJA CENTER NEWS poll has revealed.
The poll which was created on the 14th of December for February 14, was later extended due to the postponement of the election to March.
The postponement the Presidential election may have favoured General Buhari because, as at Feb 14, President Goodluck Jonathan, the incumbent President and a candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party was ahead of his main opposition.
The poll result which was compiled on Wednesday placed Buhari at 55.4% while Goodluck Jonathan left with 44.6%
The poll was conducted using opinionstage and voters were tied to social profiles and ip address which deprive those who may have wanted to vote twice to switch accounts from successfully carrying out their manipulations.
In 2003, Buhari emerged as the sole candidate of the All Peoples Party (APP) after Rochas Okorocha and Harry Akande were pressured to step down for him, while Yahaya Abubakar failed to appear on the date of the primary.
He lost the election which he contested with a former President, Olusegun Obasanjo of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
In 2007, General Buhari tried his luck for the second time after persuading Bukar Ibrahim and Pere Ajunwa to step down on conversion day.
He contested on the platform of All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) and lost to PDP’s Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.
Buhari, then, contested the election in 2011 against the incumbent President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on the platform of the Congress for Progressives Change (CPC), yet lost again.
Though the former dictator sworn not to contest after the last election in 2011, the situation of the country has boosted his moral for the fourth time after emerging as the winner in the APC primaries which was held in Lagos State.
Judging from the poll successfully conducted on NAIJA CENTER NEWS, Buhari may emerge the winner if the election is free and fair.
Buhari, on the platform of CPC in 2011, defeated Jonathan in Sokoto, Niger, Kebbi, Katsina, Kano, Kaduna, Gombe, Jigawa, Yobe and Zamfara polling a todal of 12,214, 853 votes, which amountd to 54.3 percent.
In 2015, with the present situation and numerous deflection of members of the ruling party, plus his sudden popularity in the South-West and South-South, Buhari may be the next President of Nigeria, making history as no opposition had won incumbent presidents in the past.
