Crisis rocking the National Assembly on whom to be the senate President between the supported Candidate by the All Progressives Congress Leadership, Senator Ahmed Lawan and the aggrieved senator, Bukola Saraki escalated on Tuesday.

According to the information gathered, Bukola Saraki who was not nominated by the party has now emerged as the Senate President.

There has been crisis in the ruling party since the plan to elect the senate President and the Speaker for the House of Assembly started.

Effort to reconcile aggrieved members had proven futile as members supporting Bukola Saraki refused to allow for peace.

It was gathered that 51 senators, including Ahmed Lawan were absent while 57 senators elected Saraki as senate president.

Meanwhile, the People Democratic Party on Monday threw its support on Saraki making him gain 49 members of the PDP on his side.

The party, in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Olisa Metuh, in Abuja  on Tuesday morning at 1:50am, therefore urged its senators and reps to act accordingly by voting for these two men.

These two were not those adopted by the ruling All Progressives Congress for the positions.
