What I'll destroy if elected President - Peter Obi
If elected as president, Peter Obi, the candidate for the Labour Party (LP), plans to "destroy the structure" that has caused poverty among Nigerians.
Speaking at the Chatham House in the United Kingdom, Obi stated that his administration would fight against the "big boys" who impede the proper functioning of the power sector. He said, "That is the structure we are trying to destroy—the structure of criminality. That is what I’ve mentioned that Nigeria has been held captive.
That structure that has impoverished Nigeria, we will dismantle it. It will not be there; I assure you of that." He also plans to declare war on the power sector and attract foreign investors through a suitable platform, ensuring security and a conducive regulatory environment.
He added, "We will build intangible assets of securing the country, making sure that we govern through rule of law. We will fight corruption."©Standard Gazette, 2021.
