A governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC Chris Ogiemwonyi, says the consensus arrangement which threw up Pastor Osagie Ize – Iyamu has collapsed.
Ogiemwonyi confirmed this while speaking to newsmen after submitting his APC governorship and expression of interest and nomination forms at the party ’s National Secretariat, in Abuja, on Wednesday.
He was one of the seven aspirants who stepped down for Ize -Iyamu under the consensus arrangement.
Governorship candidates on the party loyal to Adams Oshiomhole had all endorsed Ize-Iyamu as the consensus candidate of the APC.
The aspirant said, “We practised democracy. We started with consensus (arrangement ) because we believed with unity, we can defeat the current governor, Godwin Obaseki.
“But when we heard that the consensus aspirant was inviting another person (to be running mate) outside the seven aspirants that dropped and I came second during our interview, I told him (Ize – Iyamu) that it is not acceptable.
