On Thursday, Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, vowed to provide Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, with logistical support for his campaign in Rivers State.
Inviting the LP candidate to open the Nkpolu-Oroworokwo Flyover in Port-Harcourt, Wike also said that Obi possessed all the qualities necessary to lead Nigeria.

The Peoples Democratic Party has been in crisis for months as Wike, a member of the party, and four other PDP governors collectively known as the G5 have demanded the resignation of Iyorchia Ayu, the party’s national chairman. They claim northerners shouldn’t serve as both the party’s national chairman and presidential candidate.
