Alleged fraud: Heads may roll at Abia housing corporation

UMUAHIA — HEADS may soon roll at Abia State Housing and Development Corporation, ASHDC, following the probe by the State House of Assembly on the financial and general management irregularities by management of the corporation.

At the centre of the crisis are the GM of the corporation, Mr. Michael Uwadileke, and chief accountant, Mr. Obinna Nwokoma, who was also accused of forging documents to withdraw money from  the corporation’s account.

Already, the board members, general manager and other staff involved in the crisis have appeared before a committee of the House of Assembly looking in to a petition written by aggrieved staff of the corporation on the alleged wrongs going on in the place.

The board members, it was learnt, were in agreement with the House for the probe to go on to sanitise the ailing corporation.
