2026 World Cup qualifiers: Broos unveils squad to face Nigeria

Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has announced his provisional squad for next month’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Nigeria in September, reports The Standard Gazette.

South Africa will resume their 2026 World Cup qualification campaign against neighbours Lesotho on Friday, September 5, before facing the Super Eagles four days later on Tuesday, September 9.

The first leg clash between Nigeria and South Africa in Uyo ended in a 1-1 draw.

World football governing body FIFA confirmed that South Africa’s 2026 World Cup qualifier against Nigeria will be played at the 46,000-capacity Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein.

Set to make their debuts for the Bafana Bafana include Darren Johnson, Bradley Cross, Zuko Mdunyelwa, Puso Dithejane, Kamogelo Sebelebele, Siphesihle Mkhize, and Gape Moralo.

The Super Eagles squad is expected to be unveiled next week.
