The former president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Amaju Melvin Pinnick on Wednesday failed in his ambition to be reelected into the FIFA Executive Council.
The election into the 37-man council took place in Cairo, Egypt with incumbent CAF President, Dr Patrice Motsepe retaining his spot.
Six other African representatives got the vote that ensured their places in the council.
Pinnick however got 28 votes, one shy of the needed 29.
The other spots from CAF were won by the following: Faouzi Lekjaa, Ahmed Yahya, Kanizat Ibrahim, Souleiman Waberi, Hamidou Djibrilla and Hani Abo Rida.
Waberi from Djibouti gained the vital one point that eluded the former Nigeria football boss.
The tenure for the new FIFA council members would run between 2025 and 2029.
