Eaglets Vow To Beat Congo
Players of the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria have vowed to beat Congo when both teams clash tomorrow in the last group match of the CAF U-17 Championship in Morocco.
Nigeria need a victory over Congo to qualify for the semi final stage and book a place in the FIFA U-17 World Cup scheduled to hold in the United Arab Emirates later in the year.
Nigeria secured three points in two matches played so far having beaten Ghana 6-1 in the opening match and lost 0-1 to Ivory Coast in the second match.
The Manu Garba youngsters are now in high spirits and vowed to beat Congo. It will be a crunch battle for Eaglets knowing full well that a defeat or draw may not guarantee them a place in the semi final depending on the outcome of Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire match.
Vice captain of Eaglets, Success Isaac said they have learnt from their past mistakes and promised a better performance starting with the game against Congo on Saturday.
“We are using this opportunity to beg Nigerians and we are promising them a better performance starting with the game against Congo on Saturday. We are determined than ever to do our best and by the grace of God, we won’t disappoint Nigerians on Saturday,” he said.
