Kenya’s Premier League side Gor Mahia FC left the country on Wednesday morning for Egypt, where they will play Al-Ahly Merowe of Sudan in the second round of the Caf Confederation Cup.
Gor left aboard Egypt Air ahead of the Friday duel with the second leg slated for October 24 in Nairobi.
The traveling group includes 17 players, six technical staff members, three officials, and the delegation’s leader.
The match will be played in Egypt because Merowe’s home is not approved for Caf matches.
The aggregate winner of the two-legged tie moves to the group stage.
Gor did not make it to the group stage the previous season after losing to NAPSA Stars of Zambia.©Standard Gazette, 2021.
