Kenya Premier League side Gor Mahia FC are expected to unveil their new signings ahead of the new season expected to kick off on Saturday.
The club’s Sporting Director Lordvic Aduda disclosed that the former champions have acquired seven new players to strengthen their squad.
’It is true we have signed seven players. We intend to forward their details to the Football Kenya Federation before we can officially unveil them to the public,’’ said Aduda.
The seven compose of three foreigners and four locals.
Gor said they will write to CAF to ask for the addition of names to those previously sent a list of CAF Confederations Cup participants.
"Our situation is understandable. We were under the FIFA transfer ban, but now that we have been cleared, we will write to CAF to allow us to add names to the initial list forwarded to them. Some of the players we have recruited will be really instrumental in our continental campaign hence the need to include them,'' he added.
The 19-time champions will kick off their 2021/2022 campaign against the last season’s runner’s up KCB.
Prior, they will play Tusker FC in the Super Cup, a curtain-raiser ahead of the new season. Tusker won the league while Gor bagged Football Kenya Federation Cup.©Standard Gazette, 2021.
