GSU and KPA Bow Out Africa Men’s Volleyball Championship

Kenya’s representatives in the ongoing Africa men’s volleyball championship General Service Unit (GSU) and Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) have been bundled out of the tournament after losing their quarter-final matches.

GSU lost by three straight sets (25-13, 25-22, and 25-9) to Esperance of Tunisia, whereas KPA fell to Egypt’s Zamalek 3-1 (25-13,25-22 and 26-16).

KPA will play Uganda’s Nemostar in a classification match tomorrow, and GSU will face Porta Doula.

Meanwhile, another Kenyan representative, Kenya Pipeline, beat As Douner of Burkinafaso 3-0 in their third match of Group B. They won 25-07, 25-16, and 25-12). Kenya pipeline now tops the group.

However, Tunisian champions CS Sfaxient saw off Kenyan Prisons 3-2 (25-18,16-25,25-16,25-17,15-09.  Kenyan reigning champions are now third in pool A with four points.

The tournament is taking place in Tunis, Tunisia.
