Kenya’s Men’s and Women’s 3 x 3 Basketball teams have qualified for the 2022 Commonwealth Games, which will be hosted in Birmingham, England.
Because Egypt is not a Commonwealth country, both teams earned automatic places by being ranked second-best on the continent.
The basketball teams joined the Kenya men’s Sevens team, Shujaa, the first Kenyan team to qualify for the Commonwealth Games 2022 after receiving direct qualifying through the Games’ Athlete Allocation System.
Basketball 33 will be held at the Smithfield location in the heart of Birmingham City Centre.
Kenya Lionesses will have to wait for the African Regional Qualifier, which should be completed by early next year, to secure a place in the Games.©Standard Gazette, 2021.
