Gor Mahia’s woos deepened on Thursday, October 7, 2021, after the world football governing body Fifa slapped the club with another ban for failing to pay the former player his dues.

Fifa handed Gor a two-window transfer ban after failing to pay Ghanian Jackson Owusu more than $30000. The ban takes effect from today.

The ruling followed after the 19-time Kenya Premier League champions failed to wire the funds to Owusu’s bank account within the 45 days as directed by Fifa’s Dispute Resolution Chamber.

“We wish to inform the parties that a ban from registering new players internationally has been implemented by Fifa as of today,” read the statement.

However, the ban will be lifted as soon as the club pays Owusu his dues.

The latest is the second ban for Gor Mahia this year after it failed to pay the former coach and player their dues.

The ban was lifted in September after the cash trapped Gor cleared the arrears.
