Mali humiliates Kenya

Kenya suffered a 5-0 humiliating defeat in the hands of the Hawks of Mali in the 2022 World Cup qualifier match played at the Grande Stade d'Agadir in Morocco on Thursday night.

Adama Traore gave the host a lead in the 7th minute before Ibrahima Kone made it two for Mohamed Magassouba charges fourteen minutes later.

The latter added more miseries to the Harambee Stars in the 35th minute when he netted the match's third goal.

Hungry Kone scored his hat-trick a minute before a break from the spot after Hassan Abdalla brought down Djenepo, who plies his trade with the English Premier League side Southampton.

Mousa Doumbia scored the fifth in the dying minute of the game to send the West African country to the top of Group E.

In another Group E match, Uganda beat Rwanda Mali 1-0 to revive their hope of making it to Qatar. Striker Fahad Bayo scored the lone goal.

Mali now leads the group with seven points, followed closely by Uganda with five. Kenya and Rwanda are third and fourth with two and one points respectively.

Kenya will host Mali on Sunday in a return match, while Rwanda will travel to Kampala.
