More plaudits are coming the way of Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo following his superlative form for his new team, Manchester United.
This is as former three Lions of England manager, Steve McClaren described him as the right man at Old Trafford.
Ighalo was handed a starting berth in the Manchester derby on Sunday and another first-team shirt against Derby County in the fifth round of the English FA cup.
Ighalo scored a brace to catch the eye of Steve McClaren, who said: “Everybody needs a number nine. Everybody needs a target,” McClaren said on Sky Sports.
“There can be runners but there has to be a vocal point, Manchester United didn’t have that.
“Romelu Lukaku went, they’ ve tried different things, false nine, it doesn’t work out, but I think with Ighalo it’s perfect because there ’ s lots of energy around him at the present moment and wouldn’t be surprised to see him play on Sunday.”
The former China bases forward have now scored three goals in six appearances in all competitions for United.
