Nigeria’s opponents in the 2014 World Cup qualifier scheduled to hold at the U.J. Esuene Stadium in Calabar, Cross River State on 23 March, the Harambee Stars of Kenya will arrive Lagos enroute Calabar on 19 March.
This disclosure was made Friday by the Medial Director of Kenya Football Limited, KFL, John Kariuki who told a Lagos radio station a 20-man Kenyan team will arrive Lagos on 19 March and depart for Calabar through a direct flight which Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has promised to arrange for them.
“We have been told by the NFF that we would been flown to Calabar as soon as we hit Lagos on 19 March via a direct flight,” Kariuki said.
He, however, revealed that the general mood in Kenya is that the Harambee Stars are capable of creating an upset against the Eagles after many defeats in previous matches against Nigeria. He added that Nigerians should expect a tough match.
“Our aim is to beat Eagles after which we can then look to the next matches against Namibia,” he said.©Standard Gazette, 2021.
