A member of the house of representatives named Fatuhu Muhammad has left the All Progressives Congress (APC). Muhammad, a son of President Muhammadu Buhari's late older brother, represents Katsina state's Daura/Sandamu/Mai'adua federal seat in the lower house of parliament. Fatuhu Muhammad Muhammed immediately announced his resignation from the party in a letter dated July 13 addressed to the Sarkin Yara A ward in Daura. The lawmaker did not give any reason for leaving the party. “This is to notify you that I have resigned my membership from the All Progressives Congress (APC) with immediate effect commencing from Wednesday the 13th day of July 2022,” he wrote. Muhammad's attempt to run for re-election to the house of representatives on the APC platform had failed in May. A few months after Ahmed Babba Kaita, a senator from Katsina North, resigned from the ruling party, a new situation occurred. The senator who switched parties to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) represents the president's senatorial district.
