The Democratic Republic of Congo President Felix Tshisekedi will arrive in Kenya on Thursday, April 7, 2022, for a two-day state visit.
According to Kenya’s Foreign Affairs Ministry, President Tshisekedi will be hosted by his Kenyan counterpart Uhuru Kenyatta at the State House, Nairobi.
"Felix Antoine Tshisekedi, President of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) will be in Nairobi, Kenya for a two-day official visit from the 7th to 8th April 2022, " read the statement released by the Ministry.
During the visit, President Tshisekedi together with President Uhuru Kenyatta, Chair of the EAC Summit of Heads of State will sign the treaty of accession by the Democratic Republic of Congo to East Africa Community (EAC).
He will also join other presidents in participating in the EAC member states.
The Head of States will also oversee the formulation of a new map of the EAC community where DRC will be included.
DRC joined EAC last month after EAC Heads of State admitted herfollowing a recommendation by the Council of Ministers at their 19th Ordinary Summit on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.©Standard Gazette, 2021.
