The 12th East African Community Field Training Exercise dubbed 'Ushirikiano Imara' 2022 exercise clinic was officially launched on May 30, 2022, in Jinja, Uganda.

The event was launched by Uganda People's Defence Forces Military Police Commandant Major General Don Nabasa.

The clinic, which will take place from May 30 to June 2, is intended to familiarize member state participants with the framework of cooperation in attaining established goals for the Field Training Exercise.

Participants in this year's exercise came from the six East African Community partner countries: Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, and the newly merged Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The Kenyan contingent is led by Brigadier Benard Korir. It includes troops from the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), the National Police Service (NPS), Immigration, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), and a civilian component from several government ministries.
