A Kenyan Court has sentenced a man to 15 years in jail for killing his wife.
Embu High Court Judge Lucy Njuguna said the court found Crispin Nyaga guilty of murdering his wife, Catherine Mbuya, for failing to cook him meat.
The court heard that the suspect sold Khat worth $21 in a local market on December 25, 2020.
He returned home after pocketing the money and handed his wife $14 to purchase meat and other foodstuffs. Chege then proceeded to a nearby market to drink beer.
Nyaga is claimed to have arrived home inebriated and demanding food from his wife in the evening.
He was served the meal, but he began arguing with his wife, wondering why the food was devoid of meat even though he had contributed money for meat.
At that time, Nyaga seized his machete and slashed his wife’s leg below her knee.
Thereafter, he reportedly took a piece of wood and mercilessly struck his wife, who was lying on the floor, on the head, killing her instantly.
