Kenya’s Ministry of Health has announced 787 new Covid-19 cases raising the total confirmed cases to 195,898.
The new cases were found from 6892 samples analyzed in the last 24 hours, bringing the cumulative tests to 20,081502.
Out of 787, seven hundred and fifty are Kenyans, whereas 37 are foreigners.
In terms of gender, 425 are males and 362 females aged between one day old and 97 years.
Nairobi and Mombasa have registered the highest number of cases at 338 and 60, respectively.
The Ministry of Health stated that 1259 patients are currently admitted to various health facilities across the country, and 3,758 others are on Home-Based Care programme.
A total of 158 patients are in ICU, out of which 33 are on ventilatory support.
Three hundred seventy-three patients are also separately on supplementary oxygen, out of which 337 are in general wards and 36 in the HDU.
At the same time, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe announced that 424 people recovered from the virus, raising the number of recoveries to 184,885.
In terms of fatalities, another 12 patients succumbed to the disease bringing the death toll to 3838.©Standard Gazette, 2021.
