Police have launched investigations into the brutal murder of a 90-year-old man in Kibwezi, Makueni County, South Eastern of Kenya.
A preliminary report shows that the elderly man was attacked by assailants on Tuesday just after he had left a bank where he had gone to withdraw money from the Inua Jamii cash transfer programme.
The attackers reportedly cut the victim's throat before fleeing with the cash.
The deceased's body was taken to the mortuary as police launched a manhunt for the attackers.
Elsewhere, two people have died in a road accident in Keroka, Kisii County, southwestern Kenya.
The incident occurred after a lorry driver lost control of the vehicle before ramming into a motorbike along Keroka-Kisii Road.
