A Couple Arrested Over Alleged Involvement In Robbery

Police in Kenya have nabbed a husband and a wife for allegedly involving in a series of robberies in Homa Bay town, the southwestern part of the country.

"The two suspects were arrested at a rental house in Shauri Yako Estate within Homa Bay Town," said Homa Bay County Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss Abed Kavoo.

"We recovered several metal bars that we suspect were being used by the gang to break into homes," added Kavoo.

There has been a worrying trend of rampant theft of electronics and other household items in Homa Bay, forcing the police to launch a crackdown.

The couple's arrest brings to eight the number of suspected gangsters nabbed in the area in the last two days.

The two were taken to Homa Bay Police Station for further interrogation pending arraignment.
