A high-level security delegation visits Marsabit

The multi-agency security team in Marsabit, Eastern Kenya, received a high-level security delegation from Nairobi led by General Service Unit (GSU) Commandant Mr. Douglas Kanja.

The delegation was received by the Eastern Regional Commissioner, Mr. Evance Achoki and the Regional Police Commander, Mr. David Bunei.

Accompanying the Commandant GSU were the Anti-Stock Theft Unit (ASTU) Commandant Mr. Richard Ngatia, Rapid Deployment Unit (RDU) Commandant Mr. Lawrence Owino, among other senior security officers from Nairobi.

The high-level security delegation was briefed by the Multi-agency security team on the progress of the ongoing operation "Rudisha Amani Marsabit", loosely translated as restoring peace in Marsabit and security preparedness for the coming General Election.

The delegation was satisfied with the arrangements in place and asked members of the community in Marsabit County to support security agencies to foster peace in Marsabit County before, during and after the elections.

The visiting team thanked the residents of Marsabit for their continued support towards the ongoing efforts to restore lasting peace in the county.
