A teacher behind the bars for killing a fellow teacher in Kenya

A teacher at Amilo Primary school in Kabar East, Muhoroni Sub-county, defunct Nyanza Province, has been arrested for the murder of a 28-year-old man.

David Omondi Otieno, the deceased, is alleged to have died due to injuries sustained following an attack by the teacher, identified as Wycliff Ochieng Omollo.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said that 37-year-old Omollo confronted the deceased over an unknown issue before attacking him mercilessly in the Sunday evening incident.

“John Ochieng Okal, a cousin to the deceased, reported that his cousin was on his way home when he was confronted by the teacher who immediately started raining blows on his head before he landed head first on a stone,” said DCI.

The deceased succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Referral Hospital in Kisumu, Kenya's Lake City.
