The body of a female university student was on Monday morning discovered floating in a river on the outskirts of Bomet town, Kenya’s South Rift.
The body belongs to 22-year-old Mary Ann Wangari, a fourth-year Bomet University student who went missing last week.
The body was discovered by a member of the public who proceeded to inform the police.
Police said the body had already begun decomposing.
“Our officers together with the school administration have begun recording statements from students who were last seen with the deceased as we embark on serious investigations,” said deputy police boss Ali Bashir.
