An aircraft was on Thursday night forced to make an emergency landing at the Kisumu International Airport, Kenya’s lake city of Kisumu, after developing mechanical hitches.
Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) confirmed the incident via its Twitter page, saying the aircraft experienced gear failure before landing at the airport.
The aircraft had two onboard passengers: a trainee pilot and an instructor. They were rushed to hospital for treatment.
“We would like to confirm that a light aircraft has had an emergency landing at Kisumu International Airport after suffering landing gear failure. Both occupants are safe and have been rushed to hospital for precautionary medical assessment,” said KAA.
