Chinese Defence Attachè Visits Kenya Navy

Chinese Defence Attachè (DA) to Kenya, Senior Colonel Qiu Yawei, on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, paid a courtesy call to Commander Kenya Navy Major General (Maj Gen) Jimson Mutai at the Kenya Navy (KN) Headquarters.

Maj Gen Mutai and Senior Colonel Yawei discussed and explored the possible opportunities and areas of cooperation between the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy and Kenya Navy in fulfilment of the existing agreements and protocols in which the People's Republic of China has a wide range of military hardware in Kenya.

Maj Gen Mutai assured the DA China that KN is looking forward to future collaborations between PLA Navy and KN in areas of mutual interest.

Maj Gen Mutai was flanked by Deputy Commander Kenya Navy Brigadier Lawrence Gituma and Chief of Operations Colonel Michael Atodonyang.
