Commander Kenya Air Force (KAF) Major General John Omenda, on Monday, July 25, 2022, officially received new KAF Service members and opened their Induction Course at the Moi Air Base (MAB) gymnasium hall, Nairobi.

The new soldiers who have just finished their basic military training at the Recruit Training School (RTS) will undergo an induction course to augment the basic training.

The induction will familiarise them with the organization, functions and roles of KAF, formations and units, and other relevant life skills.

This is geared at equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to develop their character and enable them to perform their duties effectively, ensuring they are mission ready.

Speaking during the event, Commander KAF advised them to take their work seriously as it is a calling to serve the nation.

"You took an oath to obey all laws and carry out your duties without fear or favour, and you should be ready to do this 24/7," reiterated Maj Gen Omenda.

Finally, Commander KAF emphasized the core value of being apolitical.

"The nation is at a critical stage of exercising National elections which will commence in about two weeks, let us remain impartial, and whoever will win, we will embrace as our Commander in Chief," he said.

The Commander Kenya Air Force was accompanied by Deputy Commander KAF Brigadier Peter Githinji, Base Commander MAB Brigadier Samwel Kipkorir, among other senior officers and officers.
