County government of Nakuru partners with a church to construct a hospital

The County Government of Nakuru in partnership with the Kingdom Seekers Fellowship has today embarked on the construction of another state-of-the-art referral Modern Maternity Hospital in Bahati Sub-County, Nakuru, northwest of Nairobi.

Kingdom Seekers' senior Apostle John Kimani William's said the Church will work closely with the government to ensure the Ksh. 300Million maternity hospital is completed within a record time.

The one-stop facility will have a capacity of 120 beds with both private and open wards and delivery units.

The new maternity is set to house a pharmacy, modern diagnostic ultrasound centre, a theatre and even provide Gynaecological services.

The second floor will host Postnatal and post Caesarian Sections Inpatient, Newborn units, administration block to effectively provide all essential care that mothers need and their children.

County Executive Committee Member for Health, Dr Gichuki Kariuki said the facility will help decongest the Nakuru Level 5 Hospital, and improve the quality and efficiency of medical service delivery in the region.

“With the growing statistics of the population in the county, there is a need to invest more in Reproductive Health and reduce maternal and neonatal mortalities," he said during the groundbreaking ceremony in Bahati on Monday, January 31, 2022.

He said the county will equip and provide necessary human resources for the hospital to start operation soon after completion.
