Criminal Investigation officers complete 8-week development course

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Deputy Director Mr Joseph Ashimala on Thursday presided over the closing ceremony of the Sub County Criminal Investigations Officers (SCCIO) Development Course for 30 officers at the DCI Academy.

The 8 weeks course was designed to enhance professionalism and leadership skills for the officers as they look forward to career progression.

Mr Ashimala who was representing the Director DCI advised the course participants to exercise the strategic leadership skills and knowledge acquired in the facility.

As the 30 participants prepare to take up senior roles, Mr Ashimala also urged them to empower their subordinates as they work towards a common goal.

“Whatever the task will be, you now have full capacity to accomplish it. You will not be alone in this. Have faith in your subordinates and empower them to become better,” said Mr Ashimala.

On her part, the Commandant DCI Academy, Ms Gatiria Mboroki applauded the participants for their resilience throughout the 8 weeks and for the seriousness they accorded the course.

She emphasized that they had set the bar for similar courses that will follow as the Directorate intensifies Capacity building.
