The Health Cabinet Secretary Nakhumicha S. Wafula flagged four trucks of assorted health, water, sanitation and hygiene supplies to drought-stricken areas.
The supplies donated by UNICEF, the Germany embassy and other partners will go a long way in mitigating the severe effects of the drought that has affected 23 counties and rendered more than 600,000 children severely malnutrition.
The supplies will also help contain the cholera outbreak that has so far been recorded in more than 6 counties.
Present during the event was the Cabinet Secretary for East African Community, ASALs and regional development Rebecca Miano, German ambassador H.E Sebastian Groth and representative of UNICEF Kenya country office, Ms Shaheen Nilofer.
