The government has extended the dusk to dawn curfew imposed in parts of Baringo, Elgeyo Marakwet and West Pokot counties in Rift Valley for another month.
Rift Valley Regional Commissioner Maalim Mohamed announced the extension on Wednesday at Narok Teachers Training college.
Mohamed said the 30-day curfew imposed last month has enabled peace to return in those areas.
He revealed that security officers are pursuing bandits believed to have escaped to parts of Turkana South, Turkana East and Pokot North sub-counties.
At the same time, he assured the residents of lasting peace as the country prepares for the August polls.
