Dam Mawe water project almost complete

The Multi-Agency Security Command Team based at Ngoisusu in Laikipia County, Kenya’s Rift Valley, inspected an ongoing water project on Tuesday, 25th January 2022, at Dam Mawe area in Kirima Sub County.

The Dam Mawe water project which is almost complete, encompasses drilling of a borehole, erection of a tower, installation of solar power and construction of a water trough for livestock.

The water project is one among other projects initiated in a multipronged approach undertaken by the Multi-Agency Security Team, with the noble objective of resolving resource-based conflicts and hence establishing sustainable peace and coexistence among communities in the area.

Other projects include desilting of dams, an extension of the trench and construction of roads.

The elated residents appreciated the Multi-Agency Team for the initiative to provide water to the community and undertook to maintain the water project for posterity.

“We appreciate the government for this project since it will offer a myriad of benefits to us,” stated one of the residents.

The Multi-Agency Security Team engaged cordially with the locals and provided medical services to them.

The team urged the residents to continue embracing peaceful coexistence by involving elders, peace committees, and local administrators in conflict resolution
