Dennis Ng’ang’a has been called up to the Kenya men’s national team, Harambee Stars, by coach Engin Firat ahead of the forthcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Gabon and Seychelles.
Dennis Ng’ang’a replaces Joseph Okumu, who would be released from his parent club if he passes a late fitness test.
Okumu was injured during Stade Reims’ French Ligue 1 match against PSG.
Defender Daniel Anyembe has also been ruled out of the two qualifiers due to a club-related injury.
Meanwhile, Eric Ouma is in camp but will be evaluated by the team’s medical staff to see whether he can participate in the qualifiers.
Ouma was injured in his last encounter with his team in Sweden.
However, the Kenya Football Federation (FKF) said the rest of the squad is fit and ready for the first match scheduled for Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Stade de la Rénovation de Franceville, Gabon, at 7 pm EAT.
“The team will depart for Gabon on Wednesday, November 15, at 8 am EAT and will arrive at 11 am EAT,” said FKF.
After their match against Gabon, they will travel to Abidjan, Ivory Coast, for the match against Seychelles on Friday, November 17, 2023.
