The Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Renson Ingonga, is in the Republic of Azerbaijan on a 4-day official visit.
The working visit aims to strengthen collaboration, cooperation and partnership between the prosecution services of the two countries.
The Republic of Kenya and the Republic of Azerbaijan established a diplomatic relationship on May 28, 2004, when the countries signed a joint communique officially establishing diplomatic relations.
Later, the Republic of Azerbaijan opened its embassy in Kenya in 2023.
During the visit, the DPP will also hold meetings with relevant criminal justice agencies in Azerbaijan.
The visit is geared towards enhancing the capacity to fight transnational crime and initiate prosecutor exchange programmes and joint training.
“The DPP envisages a stronger and strategic cooperation with the Azerbaijan prosecution service,” said the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution.
