The Disaster Response Battalion (DRB) of the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) on September 20, 2022, conducted a demonstration exercise showcasing their expertise in Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) to the Deputy Argentine Ambassador to Kenya, Natalia Acevedo.
The exercise was conducted in conjunction with other disaster response agencies: KDF’s 1st Canine Regiment, National Disaster Management Unit, and National Police Service.
Others were the Bomb Disposal Unit of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, Kenya Red Cross Society, and St. John’s Ambulance.
The delegation was accompanied by the Director of International Peace Support Training Centre (IPSTC) Brig Joyce Sitienei and Commanding Officer DRB Lt Col Elon Were.
