Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has recovered public land illegally acquired from Kisite Mpunguti Marine Reserve in Kwale County, coastal Kenya.
The property comprises four islands within the Kisite/Mpunguti Marine National Reserve.
It is a protected, reserved, and gazetted area under the management and conservation of the Kenya Wildlife Service.

The Commission’s Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) recovered the islands.
ADR facilitates suspects in possession of public property to enter into negotiations with the Commission on terms of voluntary surrender of the stolen property.
“Pwani Holdings Resort Limited, Bantus Investment Limited, and Pangos Limited have returned the original titles to the Commission to facilitate cancellation and fresh registration under Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS),” said EACC.
The Commission has called on other persons illegally holding public property to take advantage of the ADR mechanism to resolve disputes instead of waiting for a lengthy and costly litigation process.
