Eight Perished In Monday Evening Road Accident In Homa Bay County

Eight people have been confirmed dead and two others injured after their vehicle was involved in a grisly road accident along Kendu Bay-Homa Bay Road in Homa Bay County, southwestern Kenya.

The incident occurred after a public service vehicle collided head-on with a fuel tanking, killing the eight on the spot.
The Nissan was reported to have had ten people on board.
Homa Bay County Governor Gladys Wanga mourned the deceased describing the incident as devastating.
“This evening, I have received the devastating news of a fatal accident involving a Public Service Vehicle traveling to Kisumu from Homa Bay and a truck that was coming from the opposite direction at Ngegu area,” she said
“I am deeply shocked and saddened at the loss of precious lives and the injuries to more in the unfortunate incident. I send my deepest and heartfelt condolences to those who have lost friends and loved ones. I pray for the speedy recovery of all those injured.”
Police have launched investigations into the horrifying accident.
