The Environment Cabinet Secretary Keriako Tobiko participated in UNCCD COP 15 Youth Forum organised by the UNCCD secretariat in Ivory Coast.
The two-day forum was officially opened by the Ivorian Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development, Hon. Mamadou Sangafowa.
The Youth Forum aimed to explore land-based jobs for youth and opportunities and the way policymakers can actualize employment opportunities for young people in land restoration.
It also seeks to unlock financial support for Green start-up opportunities by young people. This forum is tied with the rising population of the youthful generation, thus the need to use land sustainably as a source of income.
The meeting’s theme is “Land. Life. Legacy: From scarcity to prosperity”. It is a call to action to ensure land, which is the lifeline on this planet, will also benefit present and future generations.
The forum was also attended by the Ivorian Minister of Agriculture, Hon. Kobenan Kouassi Adjoumani, UNCCD Secretariat, Youth President among others.#UNCCDCOP15 #LandLifeLegacy©Standard Gazette, 2021.
