Police in Kenya have arrested a former militia group leader locally known as Mungiki Maina Njenga.
Mr. Njenga was arrested at his Kiserian home, West of Nairobi, on Wednesday evening. He was arrested alongside his brother and his personal assistant.
The family disclosed that police officers raided their home before taking away the former Mungiki leader.

Njenga’a arrest was also confirmed by his lawyer Ndegwa Njiru, saying his client was taken to an undisclosed location.
The reason for his arrest remains to be unknown. However, rumours linked his arrest to the ongoing anti-government protests in the country.
Kenyans are protesting against the high cost of living, which has made life unbearable, especially for people from low-income households.
