Father who impregnated daughter to serve 30 years in jail as appeal flops

Unable to have his prison sentence reduced by the court, a Kenyan dad who had twice impregnated his daughter has suffered a severe setback.

The father, whose identity has been withheld, had gone to court to ask for a reduction in his 30-year prison sentence, which he considered excessive.

The Court of Appeal, on the other hand, dismissed the application and upheld the decisions of the trial court and the High Court.

In 2012, he was arrested and charged with the crime of incest.

A request to have his 30-year sentence reduced was also denied by the court, which reasoned that he could have received a harsher punishment because the girl was under the legal drinking age.

This individual pleaded guilty to the crime, but due to the turn of events, he filed an appeal, claiming that he had never pleaded guilty because he was quiet, but the court overruled him and sentenced him to prison.

The defendant pleaded with the court to reduce his sentence, claiming that he is the primary breadwinner in his family.
